ChatGPT Go vs Plus vs Pro 100, 200 & 500: What's the Difference?

Every tier includes everything from the tier below it; Pro is one feature set sold at three monthly usage levels — Pro 100 ($100), Pro 200 ($200) and Pro 500 ($500) — and Taria Gift lists them under the same names.

ChatGPT Go is the cheapest paid tier — $8 per month in the US at our August 2026 check, billed in local currency in some markets (¥1,400 in Japan, for example) — and available in every country ChatGPT supports. Over Free it adds more messages with tools, more uploads, more image creation, more voice chats and longer memory, with a doubled Instant context window (54K vs 27K). OpenAI notes the plan may include ads.

What Go does not include is the Plus feature set: no advanced reasoning models with GPT-6, no projects, scheduled tasks or custom GPTs, and only limited deep research and Codex. If you mainly want longer everyday conversations without free-tier cutoffs, Go is enough.

ChatGPT Plus at $20 per month is where the full product opens up: advanced reasoning models with GPT-6, expanded message and upload quotas, more complex and accurate image creation, expanded deep research, expanded memory and context (54K Instant, 256K reasoning), expanded Codex usage for coding, and ChatGPT Work on desktop, web and mobile.

Plus is also the first tier with projects, scheduled tasks, and custom GPTs, plus early access to new features. Most individual users who rely on ChatGPT daily — writers, students, developers, researchers — find Plus sufficient.

ChatGPT Pro is the top individual plan and comes in three monthly usage levels; Pro 100 is the entry level at $100 per month. On top of everything in Plus it adds Pro reasoning powered by GPT-6 Astra, Dot (OpenAI's always-on agent), longer Codex and ChatGPT Work sessions, unlimited and faster image creation, maximum deep research, and the largest context windows (128K for Instant, about 250 pages; 400K for reasoning, about 680 pages).

Pro 100 is built for people who hit Plus limits in the course of normal professional work — heavy coding sessions, large-scale research or high-volume drafting. Unlimited usage is subject to OpenAI's abuse guardrails, and Pro is billed monthly only; there is no annual plan.

Pro 200 ($200/month) includes more usage than Pro 100 with the same feature set. It exists for near-continuous, all-day workloads: agencies running generative pipelines, developers driving Codex hard, or researchers synthesizing large document sets daily. New Pro 200 subscriptions since 29 September 2026 carry a lower included allowance than before, at the same price.

Pro 500 ($500/month), added in late September 2026, has the highest included usage of the three and is the only Pro plan with Ultrafast, a faster speed mode for GPT-6 Astra and GPT-6.1 Sol that draws on the plan's allowance at 8× the Standard rate. Occasional or moderate users will not exhaust Pro 100 and should not pay for Pro 200 or Pro 500.

Pick Go if budget is the constraint and your usage is conversational — it removes the most annoying free-tier limits for the least money. Pick Plus if ChatGPT is part of your daily work: the GPT-6 reasoning models, projects and custom GPTs are the real productivity jump, and $20/month covers most individual workloads.

Move to Pro 100 only when Plus rate limits actually interrupt you on a normal day. Choose Pro 200 when even Pro 100 throttles a continuous, full-workday pipeline, and Pro 500 only if you need Ultrafast or the largest allowance — if you are not sure you need it, you don't.
