Does Anthropic sell Claude gift cards?
Yes — but not right now. What it is not: there is no retail Claude gift card, no prepaid balance, and no cash value — a gift is one plan for one period. Anthropic also restricts who can buy: free users and members of Team or Enterprise organizations cannot purchase gifts at all, and checkout takes a credit or debit card through Stripe like any other Claude payment.

How official Claude gifting worked (and should work again)
Purchasing is paused as of October 2026, so these steps are for when Anthropic reopens claude.ai/gift. The flow lived inside your own Claude account, took a few minutes, and the confirmation email was your record of the order.
- Sign in to claude.ai with an active Pro or Max subscription, click your initials in the lower-left corner, and choose 'Gift Claude' — or go straight to claude.ai/gift.
- Choose the plan (Pro, Max 5x, or Max 20x) and the duration (1, 3, 6, or 12 months).

What happens when the recipient redeems
A gift is redeemed on the web only, expires 365 days after the purchase date, and cannot be stacked with another gift at the same time. Any Claude account can redeem it, regardless of which email address received the gift. What the recipient actually gets depends on what they already pay for:

When the official gift doesn't work: the crypto route
The official gift always needed three things from the buyer: an active Pro or Max plan, a card Stripe would accept, and a personal (not Team or Enterprise) account — and since October 2026 it needs a fourth that nobody has: Anthropic reopening purchases. Until it does, a subscription credit is the only way to gift Claude, and it also covers the usual cases: you do not subscribe yourself, your bank declines AI subscription charges, or you hold your money in stablecoins.

Gifting Claude to someone whose card doesn't work
The recipient of an official gift never enters a card, so the official route already solves the classic case — a friend in a country where Anthropic's Stripe checkout declines local cards — provided you, the buyer, have a working card and a Pro or Max plan.
When the buyer is the one without a usable card, a subscription credit closes the gap: it is bought with USDC or USDT and activated by the seller, so neither side's card situation matters. That makes it the working path for families and friends spread across regions where subscribing directly is difficult or impossible.

Does Anthropic sell official Claude gift cards?
