On October 12, 2026, the company behind Grok (posting as SpaceX Super Intelligence, @SpaceXSI) announced The X Subscription: one plan that covers Grok, Grok Bot, Cursor and X Premium. It replaces separate SuperGrok, Cursor and X Premium sign-ups with five tiers — Free, Plus, Premium, Super and Ultra — that share one weekly AI usage pool. This guide lays out each tier's price and contents from the official launch page and Cursor's pricing page, what happens to existing subscribers, how it compares with ChatGPT and Claude at the same price points, and what to do if your bank card is declined at checkout.

The X Subscription is a single subscription across four products: Grok (chat, voice, and image and video generation), Grok Bot (AI agents that carry out tasks), Cursor (local and cloud coding agents) and X (the checkmark, creator tools and fewer ads). The announcement post on X read: "We've unified plans across Grok, Cursor, and X Premium."
It went on sale to new customers on October 12, 2026, and the launch page says it will reach everyone globally "over the next few days". Sign-up is at x.ai/pricing, and Cursor's own pricing page now sells the same five tiers in place of its earlier individual plans.
Prices below are the official monthly USD prices from the launch page and cursor.com/pricing, before tax or VAT. Usage is not published as a number of messages or tokens; each tier is described as a multiple of the Plus allowance. The launch page lists no annual prices, so check x.ai/pricing for annual billing before you commit.
| Tier | Price | Included usage | What it adds |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | Limited | Daily Grok access, a starter allowance for Cursor's coding agents, standard X |
| Plus | $8/month | Base | Grok Chat, Voice, Imagine and Build, Grok API, Cursor with Grok models only, X checkmark, creator tools, fewer ads |
| Premium | $30/month | 4x Plus | Latest Grok models, Grok Bot, video generation, Cursor cloud agents and code reviews, third-party models at API list price, ad-free scrolling on most surfaces |
| Super | $100/month | 15x Plus | Everything in Premium, plus priority model access at peak times |
| Ultra | $200/month | 50x Plus | Everything in Super, plus earliest access to new products and models |
The biggest line is between Plus and Premium. Plus gets you the X checkmark and Grok and Cursor usage, but Cursor runs Grok models only, and Grok Bot, video generation and Cursor's cloud agents are all missing. Premium is where the bundle starts to replace standalone plans: it adds those features, makes Claude and GPT models usable in Cursor (billed separately), and removes ads from most of X.
Super and Ultra keep the Premium feature set and add usage: 15x and 50x the Plus allowance, priority access when demand peaks, and on Ultra the earliest access to new models. Team plans cost the same per seat as Premium, Super and Ultra ($30, $100 or $200) with pooled usage, SSO, admin controls and consolidated billing.
| Feature | Free | Plus | Premium | Super / Ultra |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Grok Chat, Imagine, Build | Limited | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Grok video generation | No | No | Yes | Yes |
| Grok Bot | No | No | Yes | Yes |
| Cursor agent | Yes | Yes (Grok models only) | Yes | Yes |

Every paid tier gets one pool of AI usage that Grok and Cursor draw from — in Grok, that covers Chat, Imagine, Voice and Grok Bot, whether you use them in the Grok apps or the Grok tab on X. Whatever you leave unused in one product is available in the other, so someone who only codes can spend the whole pool in Cursor.
The allowance refreshes weekly rather than monthly. If you run out, you can buy top-ups or wait for the refresh. The launch page also says each tier includes at least twice the coding usage with Grok models of the comparable Cursor plan.
The catch is third-party models. Claude and GPT in Cursor are no longer drawn from included usage on the new plans: they are available on Premium and above, but billed separately at API list prices through top-ups, with optional spending caps. If most of your Cursor work runs on Claude or GPT today, estimate that API spend before you switch — current Cursor subscribers keep their included third-party usage until they move.
Nothing changes automatically. Existing SuperGrok, Cursor and X Premium subscribers keep their current plan, price and features. The option to switch appears in each account's billing settings as it rolls out, and switching ends the old plan with a prorated refund for unused time. The launch page also mentions limited-time upgrade offers in those settings.
The old plans are closed to new customers, though. If you don't already have SuperGrok, a Cursor plan or X Premium, The X Subscription is now the only way to sign up. The launch page also says remaining customers will eventually be moved to the new plans, with no timeline yet and advance notice before any change. Annual subscribers keep every day they paid for, and any change takes effect only at renewal.
If you pay for more than one of these today, the switch flow links your X, Grok and Cursor accounts and recommends a plan based on what you have. The only mapping the launch page spells out is Premium: $30 for the benefits of SuperGrok, Cursor Pro and X Premium+, previously $90 a month combined. For SuperGrok Plus, SuperGrok Heavy, Cursor Ultra and other plans, compare usage in your billing settings rather than assuming a one-to-one swap.
Cursor's pricing page recommends Premium for new AI users, Super for people who use agents every day, Ultra for power users, and Plus for social creators who use AI lightly. In practice:
The tiers are priced next to the ChatGPT and Claude plans: $100 and $200 tiers at the top and a $20–$30 entry plan. Each bundle measures usage differently, so the comparison is about what is included, not about equal limits.
| Price point | The X Subscription | ChatGPT | Claude |
|---|---|---|---|
| Entry plan | Premium, $30 (Grok, Cursor, X Premium+) | Plus, $20 | Pro, $20 |
| $100 | Super (15x Plus) | Pro 100 | Max 5x |
| $200 | Ultra (50x Plus) | Pro 200 | Max 20x |
Not directly. Cursor's pricing page states that self-serve plans support all major credit and debit cards, with invoices and wire transfers reserved for Enterprise. There is no USDT or USDC option at checkout, so the bundle has the same problem as the plans it replaced for people whose cards are declined for foreign AI subscriptions or who don't have a bank card. See why AI subscription payments get declined for the usual causes.
On Taria Gift, independent merchants sell Grok subscriptions that they activate on your account, and you pay in USDT or USDC on Base, BSC or Arbitrum. Plans and stock change as merchants update their listings for the new tiers, so check the Grok brand page for the plan name and period before you pay. How to pay for Grok with crypto walks through the checkout step by step.
Free is $0, Plus $8 a month, Premium $30, Super $100 and Ultra $200, before applicable taxes. Team seats cost the same as Premium, Super or Ultra per seat. The launch page lists no annual prices.
Not for new customers. X Premium is now part of The X Subscription, and the earlier standalone plans are closed to new sign-ups. Existing X Premium and X Premium+ subscribers keep their plan and can switch from their subscription settings; X says the comparable new plan costs the same or less.
New customers can't. SuperGrok is replaced by The X Subscription, where Premium at $30 carries the SuperGrok benefits plus Cursor Pro and X Premium+. Existing SuperGrok subscribers keep their plan until they switch or receive notice of a migration.
Yes, but only with Grok models. Claude and GPT models in Cursor require Premium or above and are billed separately at API list prices.
No. Paid tiers share one usage pool across Grok and Cursor that refreshes weekly. You can spend all of it in one product, and top-ups are available if you run out before the refresh.
Yes. You keep the benefits until the end of the billing period. Cursor's pricing page asks you to cancel at least 24 hours before renewal to avoid the next charge.
Not on x.ai or cursor.com, where self-serve plans take credit and debit cards only. On Taria Gift you can pay for a merchant-activated Grok subscription with USDT or USDC when a listing is available on the Grok brand page.
